Dear Ltl’ Bud (aka Mason),
Today is your second birthday. Your Mama and I wanted to write you a letter to remember this by. It has been a year full of changes for you and for us.
You are learning to be a big brother and we are learning how to be parents of two kids. Bear with us, it is new for us too. Being two years old can be tough, but always know that we love you, even if we make you sit still sometimes.
During the last year, you have gone from eating pureed fruits and vegetables to gnawing on corn-on-the-cob.
You learned how to tend the garden with Dada, and became fascinated with all things related to trucks, brooms, and lawnmowers.
You love to go to the garage with Dada and ride your own trucks.
You love to give Caroline aka Sissy kisses and hugs. You are so sweet and gentle with her.
You love to snuggle up next to your Mama at night and say your bedtime prayers
You are a creature of habit. Your bedtime routine has not changed since you were 4 months old.
You learned to sit on the potty and to take a big boy shower at night.
You eat everything in sight, but only when you want to, and only with your fork.
You love to swing.
You started school in the spring, and I think Mama may have cried as much as you did.
McKinnley is still your girlfriend, whether you know it or not.
You can swim like a fish, when you let go of Dada in the pool.
You made your baseball debut in left field.
You learned your 50 states and can work the puzzle to prove it.
That is a lot to accomplish in a year, but to quote your favorite book (The Cat in the Hat) “That is not all said the cat, oh that is not all.”
Mama and Dada are very proud of you, Mason. Thank you for coming into our lives and making us smile. We couldn’t have asked for a better ltl’bud.
Happy 2nd Birthday. We love you so very much!
