Mason: 19-21 Months

Is it just me or as soon as you have your second child your first born appears my grown up? I swear, the minute Mason walked into my hospital room after Caroline arrived, he looked bigger. Not only did he look bigger but he acted more grown up. I wanted to scream.. where's my little baby boy? I think these pictures alone show just how much he is growing up.

He just turned 22 months but I am only going to share his 19-21 months pictures and save 22 for 22-24. Seriously, 2 months away from being TWO YEARS OLD! What? Someone hold me. I might cry.

The kid always has something in his hands. Trucks, rake, food.. something. I love this stage. He is so much fun. Yes, we have our moments. Yes, we have meltdowns and tantrums but the good ALWAYS outweighs the bad. Watching him grow into his role as big brother melts my heart each day. He loves Caroline so much. Always wanting to hold her, give her her paci, help feed and burp her. Where Caroline is, Mason is.

Just a few stats for our on "bookkeeping"
-  No idea how tall he is but he is tall.
- around 27 pounds.
- Wearing all 2T clothes
- Size 8 - 8.5 shoe. Big feet!
- Size 5 diaper

I have a question for boy moms... when did you start potty training? I've been told boys are harder to train and typically potty train later than girls. Truth?  I'm honestly not in a hurry as I would rather wait until he was really ready so it doesn't backfire on me. Plus, in a diaper it is contained! :)

Eli has been a dream!! I waited until the end of school so I could work with him. He was 26 months. My sitter suggested I let him go bottomless because pull ups are too much like a diaper. I let him pick out a potty...Cars,of course. We had been talking about potting for months before the actual work began. He would also come to watch us potty.
The week we started I let him go bottomless all day. We talked a lot about going to the potty. I would put him on it about every 30 min. He would actually go about every 3 hours. I gave him a lot of praise and a sticker. (he stopped asking for stickers so we don't do them unless he asks...I believe in intrinsic motivation. Within 4 days, he had it. I still put on a pull up at nap and a diaper at bedtime but I am thinking of stopping that too because he doesn't pee in his sleep. He will wake me up instead of peeing in his diaper. Honestly, this has been totally easy. I am blessed and scared that the next baby may give us a run for our money!

Time does fly. Jake is a week away from 4:( Just thinking of kindergarden next year makes me sad. Jake tried a little potty training for a couple of days but then reverted back for a few months until he had an entire week hanging out with Josh on Spring break and then in one fail swoop he got the potty training and no paci. It happens when the child is ready, thats at least what i learned form the experience.

Thanks for sending the birth announcement for Caroline. Such a beautiful picture and baby. Hopefully one of these days we will run into each other and we will be able to meet each others kids!
