Summer Finds

We have been trying to get our backyard ready for the summer and in doing so, we wanted to incorporate things that would keep Mason entertained. His Mother's Morning Out program is out all of June and all of August so we knew he would need something to keep him entertained while we adjusted to a newborn in the house again. Our backyard is good size, fenced in and there is a patio under the deck so it's perfect for sitting outside in the shade when Caroline arrives.

One day while Mason was at "school" and I had some free time, I decided to take advantage of this opportunity for a sole shopping trip. I went to Marshalls and Home Goods and walked out with great finds. At Marshalls I scored a pair of Native shoes in scuba green for (even though they look more blue in the picture) for Mason and couldn't resist grabbing a pink pair for Caroline. These shoes are awesome! We have gotten so many compliments on them. I love that they are completely water proof!

At Home Goods I found the best pool ever! It's a turtle pool and water shoots out of it's mouth/head when you hook the hose to it. As soon as we got home, I blew this sucker up while Mason napped. After nap time, we spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool until Brian got home. Best part... it was only $14.99! We have already gotten our moneys worth out of this little pool. And Mason thinks is hilarious to splash me, which is a win-win for me on these hot days!

And lastly, to add to the entertainment in the backyard my parents got Mason an early birthday gift!
He had played on a similar climber at Max's house and loved it. We just knew this would be so much fun for him this summer. Since his birthday isn't until August 31, my parents decided to surprise him with an early gift so he will get lots of use out of it this summer. Brian put it together late one night after work so Mason would be surprised the next morning. Needless to say, we have one happy toddler in our house! Thanks Grammie and Grandpa!

Brian plans to build a sandbox for him as well and he has a swing. I think between all these things, he should be set for the summer. The only thing lacking might be a water table? Thoughts?

Any ideas/suggestions on outside toys to keep an active toddler entertained?

I'd love to find some of those Natives for Easton! They are so cute!

Looks like Reagan will have to visit before we move for the summer. My thoughts are that until that happens, don't buy a water table! I'll just bring you the one we have when we come see Caroline! Reagan really just likes to play in the hose:)

G loves his water table & sandbox! If you find a cheap one, it may be worth it! We use ours every day. I am ALL about backyard fun these days:)
