We have our....

FLORIST!!!! This is something that was a stressful process. We looked all over the city for an florist that catered to weddings and events and had a true portfolio to back up their work. Well one day I got an email from our amazing wedding coordinator, Alyse, telling me she had found one that I had to check out. As soon as I saw his website, I was in love! The portfolio was amazing and he isn't an everyday florist. His main focus is on events and weddings and his studio was less than 10 minutes from my house! Last week we met with Wayne and we just clicked. My mom loved him, I loved him and Brian.. well he's a guy. He thought his work was excellent. I couldn't be more excited to have the last of the major vendors booked. Here are some samples of his work. I am putting complete trust in Wayne, as I am clueless when it comes to flowers. We told him the colors we wanted, what we liked and didn't like and we are just going to let him run with it. He is the professional, not us!

March of Dimes

Here's the thing about family. They may not always be close in distance but when you need them, they are there. My cousin Kelli went into early labor on April 17, one day before her birthday, and it is with much sadness that I report the twin boys did not survive. Kelli deliver Ryan Allen and Dillon George at 23 weeks and they will forever live on in our hearts.

On Saturday, we took to the streets of Charlotte, along with my mom and brother to walk in memory of Ryan and Dillon in the annual March of Dimes walk. Kelli and Tim were amazing and they are such strong people. During this hard time, they had relied on their faith and love. They are the definition of strength. Over 7,500 supporters turned out Saturday for the walk. Amazing. We all survived the 3.5 mile walk despite the 90 degree weather.

We love you Ryan and Dillon. Hope you are having fun with Mamaw in heaven!

Rehearsal Dinner Venue

We have our rehearsal dinner location!!! WOO HOO!!! Brian's family came into town on Easter weekend and we took that opportunity to find a place for our rehearsal dinner. Brian's sister took the led and got things squared away in no time. We wanted the location to be a restaurant (for simplicity sake, didn't have to deal with caterers) and to have an outside patio area that could hold 50+ people. Well... we hit the jackpot! Mom and I met Brian and his family on Saturday for lunch to check out a place that was in our top 3. By the time we finished our meal, our minds were made up.. this was the winner! So... RiverBirch Lodge it is!It is rustic and truly beautiful. Check out this beauty...

Pictures of the outside patio we have reserved. How cool are the chairs? And it has it's own private entrance so you don't have to enter through the main doors.

The manager was so nice to work with. He is sending us a seating chart and will set everything up for us (centerpieces, seating cards, etc) prior to our arrival. We are so thrilled to be able to check this off the list and couldn't be happier with RiverBirch Lodge.

Tux Shopping

One of our goals for April was to pick out the tuxes/vest for our wedding. I told Brian these were his decision and for the most part.. they were. I helped a little but overall, he had all the say so in the matter. Since our wedding part is spread out all over the place, we decided to use MW Tux for simplicity sake. It great because you can check online to see who has and hasn't been fitted yet. Brian picked out the Joseph & Feiss Two-Button Notch Lapel Tux. Two Button was the way to go as it will look the best on all of our wedding party.

The groomsmen will be wearing the Geometrics Truffle Vest with the long tie, as it was the best match to the bridesmaid dresses. Close up detail shot....Brian will be wearing the Geometrics White Vest and tie.And my dad will be wearing the Geometrics Black Vest and tie.I think it will all look beautiful and I can't wait to see everyone dressed up on our big day! Did anyone else find picking out the tuxes to be a little more stressful than they originally thought?

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Let's make a change and take care of our Earth, if not for us, for the future generations!

A Tribute to Lady

Many of you know that Lynsey and I took in a stray dog a couple months ago. She was a jumpy, excitable, energetic little rat terrier. Because we had no name for her, we started to call her Lady.

We both told each other that this would be a temporary home for Lady, and that we could not handle another dog, but over the last few months, she became part of our family. Her flying leaps through the screen door, sudden jumps on your lap, and insatiable appetite are unforgettable.

This afternoon Lynsey took Lady to the local humane society and they accepted her for adoption. We are confident that this is the right thing to do, but that doesn't make it any easier to say good-bye to her. Best of luck to our little Lady and we hope that she finds a good home.

Happy Birthday Deacon!

Brian rescued Deacon from the Humane Society last spring and today our little guy turns ONE!!! We are so thankful O'Malley and Deacon got along from the start and they have turned into the best play mates. Deacon is such a gentle and loving pup and quickly stole our hearts! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEACON!
