It's beginning to look a lot like...

CHRISTMAS! Last night Brian finished my Christmas stocking ladder and I was able to hang our stockings! Since my house doesn't have a fireplace and/or mantel, I have been searching for a way to hang our stockings. Well I stumbled across this...I knew if I gave Brian enough time, he could make something similar for me. And my friends, he did not fail me! I was in awe when I saw the final product. He is so talented! Check it out!
My ladder is one a kind! Handmade, hooks and all. I'm one lucky girl.

Since my stocking is at my parents house, I was also in search for a new stocking. Thanks to a gift card from Pottery Barn that I received for my birthday, I was able to order Brian and I matching stockings that were monogrammed. Cute, huh?!

Of course, we couldn't leave our"boys" out. I found Deacon and O'Malley matching stockings at Home Goods. They were too adorable to pass up!

I can't wait to fully decorate my house for Christmas! More pictures will be posted as I find time to decorate more.

Wake vs Boston College

Saturday Brian and I bundled up and headed to the Wake Forest vs. Boston College football game. Let's just say, it was cold! I had on 3 layers of clothes and I still managed to freeze. Wake did not play a stellar of a game. We thought they would be able to pull off a victory, thanks to their defense but seems that wasn't the case. This was the first time Boston College has ever win in Winston Salem, with a score of 24-21. This was my last game of the season to attend, as I have a wedding next weekend. We really enjoyed the games this season and look forward to attending them again next year.

Brian will be taking his mom, sister and brother in law to the last game of the season next Saturday.. Wake vs. Vanderbilt. Should be a good game! Hope you guys have a lot of fun!
All bundled up!
Hair went up, thanks to the wind!

Thanksgiving at Baptist

My department at work had their annual Thanksgiving luncheon on Friday. We had a feast! We had so much left over that we invited the engineering men to come and help us finish off all the food. Everyone brought a different dish and it was all wonderful. We stuffed ourselves silly and tried our best to stay awake for the rest of the work day.

The big turkey that greeted us.
All the yummy food.
The beautifully decorated table.

Dawn's Bachelorette Party

Last weekend I hosted a bachelorette party for my good friend, Dawn. Dawn and Chris are tying the knot over Thanksgiving weekend in Winston Salem. This will be wedding #5 of 2008 for B and I. Dawn decided she wanted a relaxed, low key weekend and we knew just the place for that... my parents log cabin in the mountains! I decided to use a pink/brown theme for the weekend, complete with a small candy buffet. 6 of us (Dawn, Barbara, Andi, Traci, ReBecca and I) met on Friday evening to head to the cabin. First stop was for Mexican food in Walnut Cove. Once our bellies were full, we made our way to Danbury. We arrived at the cabin late Friday evening. Over the weekend we taught Dawn how to make 2 desserts, a soup and a chicken dinner. She did an excellent job. We took a walk/run, played Wii Fit, danced, watched movies, had a foot spa and just really enjoyed our time together. Here are some of the shots from last weekend.

Stay tuned for more pictures....

Halloween 2008

This post is very late, I apologize. For Halloween we decided to take the pups to my parents beach house at Oak Island, NC. Zach & Taylor and Mom & Dad all joined us for a long weekend at the beach (we all took Friday off work). We all had a wonderful time of eating seafood, carving pumpkins, taking the pups to the beach, laying around reading and taking the boat out in the water. We couldn't have asked for a better Halloween. The pictures sum up the trip the best.

What is this I see????

This is what I wake up to every morning... O'Malley snugged under the covers sleeping like a baby.
Well this morning was no different, in that O'Malley was snoozing away under all the covers. However, when I peaked outside, I also saw this......
That's right my friends... SNOW!!! Of course it was not enough to even cover the ground but hey, in the South, we take what we can get! Funny thing is, schools were on a 2 hour delay because of this small dusting of snow. Only in the south! And just to think, Winston looked like this just last week...

Welcome to the World Julia Grace!

Isn't she precious? My friend/coworker/soccer buddy gave birth to Julia Grace last week. I can't wait to meet the little one. I can tell she is going to be a future soccer star.

Congrats Megan and Bob! I am so happy for you both!!!!

The Biggest Loser

First, I loved the 80's theme. It was a great way to mix things up. However, I can't believe Amy voted Coleen off... what the?!?! Coleen was my favorite contestant and since Papa Jerry left, I was pulling for Coleen 100%. I can't believe Amy didn't vote for Vicki considering how mean Vicki was to her. I can't stand Vicki! She needs to be GONE!!!!

To be honest, this season has turned into a "catty" show. I hate the drama that comes along with reality TV. And said to say but it is 2 people that have caused it all, Heba and Vicki. Vicki cares more about the game than she does about losing the weight and making a lifestyle change. She irritates me because people that really wanted to be there for the right reasons have been voted off and she is still there, causing drama.

I really hope Coleen becomes the at home winner. She is starting to look like Reese Witherspoon... love it! Seriously, doesn't she look amazing!

Prayers Needed

If everyone could keep my Uncle Bill in their thoughts and prayers, I would greatly appreciate it. He went to the ER over the weekend with chest pain and they admitted him for observation/test. We found out yesterday he has to have surgery. Apparently he has 3 vessel disease with 95% left main blockage. Now, I don't know a single thing about heart disease but I do know that isn't good. They are transporting him to Baptist today from Frye Regional and he will have surgery tomorrow. Thanks for all your prayers, in advance.

If you live in Forsyth County and want to know what's happening around you, check out Life in Forsyth. She has the scoop and it's a fabulous read!

On another note: more updates coming soon! We have wedding #4 to attend this weekend.
